Lexi graduated from the University of Findlay, one of the nations top ranked schools for Equestrian Studies, in 2003. She received Bachelor of Science degrees in both English Equestrian Studies and Therapeutic Riding Program Management from UF. While at Findlay she was a member of the schools IDA (Interscholastic Dressage Association) team for 4 years and competed and placed in the first ever IDA Nationals as an individual in 2002 and again in 2003 both as a team and again as an individual. Having been involved with horses for over 30 years Lexi has had the opportunity to clinic with many professionals in the dressage industry, including Mari Monda, Steffen Peters, and Hilda Gurney. Lexi has successfully shown horses up to 2nd level and schooled up to 4th level. Riders ranging from Novice to Intermediate have benefited from her instructional expertise and knowledge for over 20 years.
Lessons are by appointment only.
On The Bit Farm focuses on progressive learning through continuous lessons. Please contact On The Bit Farm for recurring lesson availability.
Time spent out of the saddle with horses is just as important as the time spent in the saddle. So riders, with assistance if needed, will groom and tack up their own horse prior to riding as well as groom and untack their horse at the end of each lesson.
Riders must wear ASTM Approved helmet (available for use at the barn) and boots or shoes with heels. All riders, or parent/guardian, must sign our waiver of liability.
Lesson horses available, trailer in your own horse, or I will travel to you (flat rate of $5 or $10 will apply depending on distance).
NOTICE
As of September 1st 2024
Lesson Prices are as shown
We require 24 hours notice for lesson cancellation. We respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Please understand that when you forget or cancel your lesson without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that lesson time and other clients miss the opportunity to take a lesson. We schedule the horses’ pasture time, cleaning stalls, babysitter arrangements, etc, around lesson times. Since the lesson time is reserved for you personally, a cancellation fee will apply.
Less than 24 hour notice will result in a charge of either $15 for a half hour or $25 for a full hour lesson respectively. If you are a no-show for your lesson without any prior notice, the full lesson price will apply.
On The Bit Farm is a year round facility, so we do not cancel because of cold or hot weather. Please dress appropriately. We understand that things can come up unexpectedly that are out of your control. If such an emergency does occur, we will work with you to reschedule and the cancellation fee may not apply.

Mr. Skywalker better known as "Walker" was "Old Reliable" at On The Bit Farm. Being Lexi's first horse, he helped her become the avid horsewoman she is today. He was a great teacher and quickly became everyone's favorite! He is greatly missed but he is always watching over us
Katie Daily - "Katie", is a 16.1 hand chestnut Thoroughbred mare. She was born in July of 2000 and raised at Irish Mist Farm in Swanton, Ohio. Katie started training with Lexi in the fall of 2003 and despite having met with a few challenges along the way, Lexi has made Katie a solid 1st Level horse, schooling 2nd Level movements. Together they continue to work through the training pyramid.
Murphy's Malachy - "M&M", is a 17.1 hand bay Thoroughbred gelding. M&M came to On The Bit Farm from Irish Mist Farm in June of 2011. He has excelled in his training while at On The Bit Farm and is an exciting challenge for our more ambitious and experienced riders looking to feel the power behind a dressage horse.
Bugaboo Button - "Boo", is a 15.1 hand Paint mare. Boo joined the OTB gang in April of 2016. Our sassiest member of the team, she continues to keep us entertained and challenged, but is settling into the program nicely. She is a steady mount for riders young and old.
Mazikeen - "Mazie", is a 15.1 hand Standardbred mare. Arriving in August of 2019, this feminine petite lady is a quick learner with smooth gaits and is fitting in at OTB Farm perfectly!
Pancake Party - "Dexter" is a 16.2 hand OTTB gelding. He is a fun challenge for more experienced riders, but also a nice ride for our beginners. A goofball inside the arena and out, he is a perfect addition to our program.
Johnny Ringo Starr - "Ringo" is a 12 year old Appendix and the newest addition to On The Bit Farm. We see alot of potential in this beautiful mover and are excited to see what he can do.
On The Bit Farm was established in November of 2009. Our 8600+ square foot insulated barn includes 7 stalls, a heated tack room and an indoor riding arena, complete with TruTex Footing.
